Prayer Gatherings
Join us for an informal gathering of SLF brothers and sisters for the purpose of praying to the Lord our God “as one person” (Ezra 3:1) as we gather together in one place (Acts 12:5,12).
While this is not a “service” with liturgy per se, we will take to heart Paul’s admonition that in the Church all things should be done “orderly” (1 Cor. 14:40). So, we will speak in turns, but that doesn’t mean everyone must pray out loud. Those who are comfortable and feel prompted by the Spirit can pray out loud after another has finished praying out loud. Those who are not yet comfortable praying out loud in public can pray quietly in their hearts in agreement with their brothers and sisters.
This is a ‘come-and-go’ gathering. People do not need to commit to staying for an hour (this isn’t a service), but people should strive to commit to come and support SLF gathering “as one person” to our Lord. They can leave any time they like—without shame or embarrassment. They can learn to pray out loud by listening to others praying out loud.
At each gathering we will have broad thematic ‘suggestions’ on what to pray about, but they are only suggestions. We want to remain open to wherever the Spirit leads the prayer.
When: The First and Third Thursday of Each Month.
Where: SLF Youth Room.
Time: 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. (come and go)
